News in from the UK lads 5 hours ago (5.40 am UK time - text message beep woke me up!)

Dave White (Land Rover Defender) - completed prologue (SS2?) OK apart from broken front shock (no spare but has 2 per side so can cope.

Andy Hogg (Ibex) "did well"

Neil Redpath (Ibex) "snapped both propshafts so dnf".

As of time of message sent - "on way to Nundooka next, all in same group"

I will be losing mobile phone contact soon as the lads only have GSM phones and I believe there is not much coverage outside Broken Hill, so will be glad of any info from anyone a bit closer to the action!!

Cheers,

Pam

Spoke to both Jonesy and T.Trudi earlier tonight and have some sketchy updates as they were both in a rush as they were transporting out to the mud stages.

Jonesy said they were doing SS12 tonight which was driving from one end of a billabong to the other and winching where necessary with a DNF of 10mins. And yes I did say tonight!!!!! Rog and Jonesy are having a few probs with the new motor but are battling on. Something about water in the oil and oil in the water :? They are in group D and are going to Denien on Tuesday so will hopefuly hear from him when they head to their Wednesday competition area.

He also mentioned that Rohan Canavan made it up there but had issues and had to miss the Saturday night stage.

Other news from today is Chris Hummer DNF'd after winning the Stephen's Creek SS. Mani rolled and manged to get it back on all 4's but dnf'd at the prologue while both Henry (DOOOH) and Birdy spent quite a considerble amount of time driving on two wheels during the prologue.

Will post up when I hear more ;)

P.S. My fiancee, the other Trudi, gave birth to a baby girl on Thursday so all we have to do now is decide whether she'll be up for a road trip to Broken Hill for the last days competition and the presentation

Good to hear Piglet has finally made a return. One of the funniest characters I've ever met and a definate highlight of competing in OBC '01.
