urgent help, rolled lux

Post by chris_02 »

ive got a 3litre turbo lux. i tipped it over and it sat there for three hours. i
have taken the glow plugs out and wound all the oil out, now a day after its fixed, the radiator is being pressurised, forcing all the coolant into the resevoir and out the overflow. could this only be caused by a blown head gasket? any feedback will do

Yes, or something worse, like a cracked head or block.

NRMA told me thatI was covered with anysort of offroad damage so long as it is on a mapped track. I asked specifically about engine drownings(anonymous ofcourse) because I contemplated drowning my old engine and claiming. I now wish I had of...

So yes you can claim it ;)

Hmmm.............................. ;)

Naaahh.... Think i'd prefer the 1UZ.
Would they replace the motor with any old one, or would have to be a new/reco'd one you think?

I doubt it would be new, they only "restore car to like condition" or words to that effect.

Reco would be my guess

I would think reco also, I didn't look into the engine replacement specifically. They certainly wont cover the 4ltr though.

Yeah I meant new as in reco. As opposed to just getting an engine from the wreckers......

Was that on the beach with a 4runner in the group?

I saw a photo of that on a 4by forum linked to some camera forum.

They wouldn't upgrade your engine but the cost of a reco would certainly good a long way to offsetting the cost of the upgrade. MMMMMMM where is that thread about the cost of the chevy V8 diesel again   :D :D
