Im thinking of getting these for more flex...

I noticed that they use them in the rear, so what do you use in the front to give you flex in the front.

I also seen some advertised in the 4WD Monthly mag where they drop up and down and also move left and right for $500...anyone useing these or see these in action.

That is a very good question, I like the idea of them, but don't know if they can be run up front...

Yes you can use them in the front, but don't waste your money.
The one's advertised in 4wd monthly are superior engineering
drop shackles.

One of mates got the full superior package (front & rear) on his
75 series. I didn't like it, we ended up taking the drop shackles
of the front and it was better. After driving driving the 75 series
i decided that i hated those shackles. BUT i hadn't driven another
vehicle that had them fitted until the other week. I now think that
there ok. In saying that, every vehicle with them fitted is going
to be different.

You really need to get longer springs (300mm) too get the full
effect from the shackles and johnny joints in the front eyes
to allow the springs to twist.

I had a look at them to and as rv points out you need new custom springs and there about $6oo a pair and the shackels for $500 that isa lot off money for l/springs.I have run up a couple off places for a coil conversion and $1500 is the going rate much better in my eyes

Hey mate if you want some flex and are handy with tools and a welder look at doing a SOA (spring over axel) conversion. You will absolutly love it

i already have a spring over and dont think that is enough flex.....
i have stock springs in the back and nforcers in the front( dont know the spring rate of either)..
if i go on a little bit of a angle i think im going to roll over ...
doesnt take much for the rear wheels to come off the ground...i want them to stay on the ground more so i get better traction....

if you got a bit a cash, then you could take some leaves out and go a track bar, or even replace springs with 60's springs, this would increase flex alot...

alot of good tech in this thread, check out tojo's setup, although he is spua he's got some wicked flex.

just look around for info, ih8mud would also have heapsa tech as well

thanks mate for the info...i just posted pics of my toy in the forum. I have a ladder bar.... is that the same a track bar..
shorty 40 has given me good info on his last rig which is what kind of flex im after...... if i have to change to 60springs i dont mind....
i know its not a good way to do it but im chasing the same flex as shorty40 but dont have much money left since i just spent another 7k on getting my toy back on the rd( new 350 chev t400 rego )

SOA and a thin leaf pack will give massive flex dude Remove a heap of leaves and put on a track bar. When i had my 45 i could get the front wheel a meter off the groungd befor the rear came off the ground, and the rear leaves wernt even that soft

EDIT: Sorry for some reason i thought you were talking about a 75. The rear of a 40 is harder to get to flex but softer, longer springs will do the trick and extend the wheelbase a bit as well

im keen on doing any mod that doesnt cost much with heaps of advantages....i have a good mate that is good with his hands, i just dont know what is involved in doing most of the mods... like moving the diffs out to 101, reverse front shackles, ...
