Just got a quote from MTQ for a turbo, 4k fitted plus 1.2k for a 3" mandrel bend exhaust.
Seems a little steep, can anyone recomend other systems that may be cheaper?

the kit you can fit yourself, and thats no exaggeration.
comes complete, and with instructions. the only thing you will then have to get done is set the pump. but best off to get someone with a dyno to do that.
$1200 for an exhaust? I had $700 for 3in + the 3in pipe out of turbo from fastfit down here.
I am having a Safari kit installed today for $4190 which includes the 3" mandrel bend exhaust. That's fully installed with the compliance plate as well. When I was ringing around, I found MTQ was priced like you said...and everything was extra ( oil change, compliance plate & exhaust). These prices are for Brisbane, so not sure about in Sydney.
mabs have u spoke to westend deisel? they do a dts kit that is easily mounted by urself in under a day. comes with 3 inch dump and pipe that reaches to the factory muffler. around the 3 grand mark supply only. very very good kit. i just intalled one on a mates patrol and with a minor adjustment of the pump the thing now hauls ass..they also can do ur pump with an aneriod thingy that will give u another 15-20% power on top of ur turbo install.. if i was looking deisel turbo id be looking there way

I'm getting about 12.5L per 100km around town before getting the injectors done. LWB Mav on 29s with a full length steel roofrack. I have now taken the roofrack off for a trip to Lithgow, will have to see what economy I get.

Yeah, I hope so. Main reason I did it was cos of the bloody wind noise.

What does the basic Denco diy turbo kit consist of? How much and what does it weigh? Maybe my son could bring back a kit for me and I could get it dynod and an exhaust bent up here in Scotland.I always here you talking of 3" exhausts for Patrol. Do you retain the Nissan manifold and build your new one from there? How many boxes do you normally build in for a turbo set up? I think there are two on my standard system and one of them is huge. Being the standard ex. system what dia pipe will it be? Patrol is 94 td42 auto with 170k

Comes with everything you need to bolt it on.. You have to make up nothing.
Me and mate have fitted 2 now, they are real easy. the biggest issue is the original exhaust studs.. They can be frozen in and snap :(
