Info on the rancho's i just bought

Post by Luv to 4B »

I just bought some rancho RS 9000's from snake racing yesterday (very good price :D :D ) for the vehicle described in my sig line. The model of the shocks is RS99112, i am told that these are the correct length for the mods on my rig. This is all good. However i have just opened the boxes of the shock and they come with all these extra parts and no instructions.
These extra parts per each individually boxed shock include:
1 x purple nylon bush
1 x bolt thingy with thead either end, one thread larger diameter than other, washers to suit and nuts to suit.
Many x washers with holes of varying sizes
4 x metal sleves, i think these must go inside the bushes but correct me if im wrong.

Just wondering if anyone knows what all these extra parts are for?

Thanks wes.

Ok dude if all the bushes are already on the shock ends and there is no pin ends (all shock ends are eyes) you dont need any of the stuff thats is bundled with them.
No matter wat you wont need the nylon bus and the double threaded bolt.. it for steering dampener purposes.

The wahsers are used on the pin ends (if there is any) of the shocks and they need to be put on correctly with the bushes in between put in correctly... its all very simple to peice together but hard for a dumb shit like me to explain

Yeh i got it sussed tonight when i put them in. I had to remove the red bushes that came with the rear shocks and put in the purple ones, coz the hole is bigger, i assume these dont need sleeves because none of the sleeves fit in the holes. The front ones went in no worries, that was all straight forward...what was stuffing m up was all the washers....but it appears you only use those when you put in the double threaded bolt, which i didn't...i just used the OE toyota bolt. Anyway...went for a test run just now to menai...im wrapped...it drives so much better on road, like a car not an ocean liner and the travel is great....sooooo much better than before.

Thanks for the help anyway Anthony much appreciated.
