V8 Patrol wrote about a mate with an injected LPG vehicle. Would like to know how you got on re obtaining pix and details.

There were acouple of us hanging off this thread awaiting some details.

V8Patrol I am very interested in the info as well, I have a 92 GQ EFI on gas, but I only get around 14 mpg(4.77 km/ltr) on gas. I would be really happy to get more than 20 mpg. Especially since I have to pay 63 cents/ltr.

I have only had it for a month. (1st 4x4)

I get about the same on petrol, so for all those anti-lpg noobs who say LPG doesnt get 1/2 the fuel economy

This is the following responses from V8Patrol's mate Mick who has an LPG injected GQ. sounds like a great set up.

" Just letting you know a bit about LPG injection, as I have on
my 1994 patrol. I fitted the system myself as I am a gas fitter.
It is a professional system. The systems are made in Holland and
can be fitted and programmed to a lot of vehicles here in Australia now.
Pictures are pretty much a waist of time as you cant see
anything, as the manifold covers most of it.
The system is designed for injected vehicles but it could
probably be made work with a programmable computer setup ( Haltec , Wolf etc.) on a non injected motor .
My patrol had a feedback gas system on it when I bought it, I
gained 50km per tank over the old system and also gained 15Kw immediately and a bit more as the computer relearnt whilst driving.
The system runs an interface unit wired into the original
computer. There is a second set of injectors fitted into the manifold right
beside the originals . The gas is sequential injection the same as the petrol, It is vapor not liquid injection as some of the earlier attempts of gas injection were (they didn't work because the expantion rate of gas varied to much at different temperatures and also had problems with the injectors freezing.)This system runs a gas converter that sends preasurised vapour to the injectors.
It starts on petrol and changes automatically when the engine
gets some temperature in it, (you cant even feel it change).
There is no chance of backfires as the manifold isn't full of
gas like the inline mixer type are.
Price . They charge $2300 fitted for the under bonnet system
(not including the tank) ,varies a bit from car to car.

I wouldn't have anything else after having this on my patrol, it's
a great gas setup and I havent had any trouble with it at all.
If you want to know anything else just ask.

A feedback system is what is required on EFI cars so they
will pass emition standards , it gets feedback from the oxygen sensor and
enrichens or leans out the gas mixture to make it run more effitently.
The guys who supply and fit these systems are in Melb. At LPG 1 in Lillydale. "
