Rubbing with 35" Simex Centepedes
Rubbing with 35" Simex Centepedes
I have recently got hold of 35" Simex Centepedes on 16x8 Landcruiser offset rims.
I have 2"springs, 30mm packers and a 2" body lift. I have no rubbing on the rear of the front guards and no rubbing on the front of the rear guards.
The rubbing is occuring with the rear tyres only on the inside of the guard near where the seatbelt bolt comes through. I have ground this down so it wont cut the tyre.
It seems to me even if I lift it higher the tyre will still rub here.
Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it? I guess I could try spacers or bigger offset rims. But i already have L/C offset rims.
What should I do?

Correct me if I'm wrong
Pretty sure the spot he is talking about there are no sharp edges. Other than the seat belt bolt. Where not talking about the front or rear of the rear guards, more the inside bit.
As for fixing teh problem I can get my old 30"HT's to rub here. Only way to fix the problem is limit uptravel slightly. SO either space the factory bump stop down. Or weld abit of square steel to the lower mount (where the bump stop hits).
This is how I will fix mine, when I get around to it. Its that or cut the back of and turn it into a ute.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....
