hi all...
... the base of the back rest on my drivers seat has broken. I drive a KZJ70, LandCruiser II
No worries i thought... i'll take the old seats from my 205 Pug put them on the runners from the LC and job done. Whadda load of crock.
Is it the case with all 70 series vehicles that the height between the left and and right hand side seat runners is sooo different. I think the height difference between the two sides is at least an inch if not more..
So my initial questions are:
is the difference in height between left hand side and right hand side unique to the KZJ70 or is it common on all 70+ series LandCruisers?
If the difference in height is common... who do people go to to get aftermarket brakets so that you can fit an aftermarket seat that is level and not sloping dramatically towards the door trim?
please help.... the only option from a drivers seat at the moment is to screw a stool in my car!

Drivers Seat Broken...Help!

I went to ARB and got a pair of Paratus seat bases to fit my race buckets. They were for a GU patrol but they make them for your vehicle as well. My race seats botled straight on with no worries and the come with an engineers certificate.

Anything you do to your seats will have to approved by an engineer.
Try and find some suitable size steel rhs, if it is one inch (25mm) it will be simple and use this to bolt down through, you will have to use crush tubes. If the bolt pattern is different, which Murphy says it will see if you can get some channel so you can match one face to the vehicle and one to the seats. Seats require a minimum of 7/16 UNF or M10 Metric Fine bolts.

I bought mine with the runners supplied. You can also just get the frame without the runners.
