I am sure that one of the big name rockcrawker guys in the US runs a similar setup (the guy who used to race in the BAJA races etc)

Don't mind the set-up at all, some serious $$$ have been spent on this girl seeing the YJ are a leaf sprung beasty.
Would love to see it in action to give any thoughts on the set-up, I doubt if it's an Aussie but the steering wheel is on the right side, maybe UK?
Love the paint job, might have get the airbrush onto my girl? :lol:

what they are trying to achieve is that when the front axle hits a bump it moves backwards as it moves upwards so that it "soaks" up bumps better.

Walker Evans ran a setup similar to this on his rock crawling buggy a few years back but he sacked it.

The biggest problem with this setup is that you get an effect the same as too much antisquat in the rear (which I guess would be dive in the front). This means that when to power comes on in the front axle it will want to pop the front of the rig upinto the air. So its no use for climbing steep stuff.

I wouldnt run it.

Also the front roll centre is very low (so it will give heaps of body roll). You really want the triangulated link on top of the diff.

And it also gives a bad approach angle.

I think the page has been reversed so its LHD so it would be US.
