What does a snorkel have in it?

Post by ryna »

hey everyone, i wanna make a snorkel

Do i just run it straight into the pipe for air intake, the one on the left of engine bay covered up in that little panel?

Also whats in the snorkle, filters etc?

And then after that and diff breathers, how would i go about waterproofing the electrics etc, what should i be looking out for?

And for all you guys who have chopped wheel arches, what do u use for flares afterwards?

Hey Ryna.

U in perth aren't ya?

Snorkel, go see an exhaust mob for 3" setup.
$35 for a snorkel ram from the truck wreckers.
Use orig filter or K&N in airbox. run rubber coupler from snorkel end to box intake.

Diff breathers, a lot use hosepipe and put a fuel filter on the end in engine bay.

Guard chop: Go see UES engineering in malaga for flares.

If you want to see the flares, i have them on mine. and i want to do guard chopping myself...

cheers

Not got it done yet, house looking has been in the way. gonna hopefully do it soon if all goes well.

Got prices of bout $50>$80 for the pipework.

i have blocked it off on mine(try a pipe cap siliconed on maybe) as doesn't get cold enough to use it. I am going to fark that piece off and run a rubber coupler from the snorkel to a steel pipe bent to right shape and size instead.

cheers

A snorkel has snork in it of course, or it wouldnt be a snorkel.

If you can catch a few of the buggers keep them in a box in the hall cupbourd and you can breed them and sell the little baby snorklets.....

Yes on the Snorkel RAMS:

The place i found (name forgotten at the moment) had a couple of different sizes. 3" one was about $35. I think you can get 3, 4 ,5" sizes.

they will most likley be 3" as that will be a standard on all storkels. Why not get a 2 - 3" adaptor for the top then put the ram on?
