Just wonderin if there is some fix for all the oil leaks that Range Rovers suffer from? I have a 78 model, and not that long ago had the rocker cover gaskets replaced, and now find the oil is still finding its way out into the engine bay. And then theres the power steering... Are there better seals available or different/aftermarket parts to replace the dodgy Rover stuff?
If these questions have been answered somewhere else, I appologise, and please direct me to find the info.

if you finally fix all the leaks , take it straight to the dealers and they will rectify this ! Its an in built saftey feature , when it stops leaking , its time to top up .. and its rust prevention built in
Yeah, I guess I should consider myself one of the lucky ones... My Rangie is so basic, the only things I have to worry about are the oil leaks... and some of the bodgy Lucas electrics, but they havent let me down yet. *knocks wood*
I spose the oil leaks could be considered a factory added feature, which other companies havent had the foresight to include... The Rover Rolling Oil Change... In with the new oil, out with the old...

Unless the power steering leak is severe I would just live with it - they all leak... You can do a seal replacement on the box which stops it for a while - but it will come back - what your looking for is a manageable leak ... You will also have the early metal reservoir for power steering which is notorious for leaking - its easy to change to the later plastic one if you are worried about it...
Personally I think you just have to get over it... Regular top ups is the ultimate solution.
Get yourself a custom cardboard drip tray - extra wide - and some shares in an oil company

you would be correct ! then those parts are recycled for toyotas like yours.

Glen, you know damn well the only oil leaks in my truck are from the power steering hose, and that's being fixed this weekend. And, there are NO Rover bits on my car, thank you very much. :mad:
