Firstly its fantastic to finally find people who are intrested in seriously modifying pajero's, i've been lookiing for ages and was begiinning to think i was the only one.

I own a SWB '92 pajero (imported) 'w' tortion bar front, coil rear and am confused about a few things.

I recently tried to get my Pajero lifted by pedders, they lifted my mates LWB Pajero 50mm without any problems. However they told me with a 50mm lift on mine it would be riding on the bump stops (and showed me to prove it). The bump stops could have been trimmed but they weren't very keen to do it. They told me the SWB and LWB suspension was slightly different and that was why i couldn't get 50mm. Is this true? And is trimming bump stops really that bad? I figured they knew what they were doing 'coz they were recommended bu Mitsubishi.

I've also been looking at products from off road engineering but they won't answer my calls or emails and there website hasn't been upgraded for ages. Are they still in business?? And does anyone know anything about their products?

I've read the FAQ section but i'm preety new to all this. Any information would be appreciated.
Want to turn my SWB Pajero into a 'tough truck' 'coz, i thought, no one had done it before.

When you say Offroad Engineering do you mean Offroad Industries ??
Yes the Gen 2 swb & lwb front suspensions are the same except for the torsion bars (different lengths). You can lift your swb 2" no probs at all and many have done this without issue. You can trim your upper bumpstops (x4) and just crank up your torsion bars (providing they aren't fatigued) and you will still have some downwards wheel travel. 2" rear raised coils will lift the rear. The only thing with a swb is that the rear propshaft is quite a bit shorter than a lwb so you don't really want to go much over 2" as the new pinion angle will result in serious vibrations and chew out rear uni's.
There are plenty of shorties running around now with a 2" suspension lift + 2" body lift, running 33"s and lockers :D

You don't also know anything about alternate engines for the paj. I've heard about 200 - 300 hp from the 2.8 diesel!! Is that fair dinkum? I'm hopeing there is a bigger diesel option out there (mabey something from a canter?!?) because i'm after the torque down low you get from diesel over petrol. Otherwise i was thinking about the 3.5 V6. I've heard they also can put out quite a decent amount of power with a bit of tuning and a turbo.
