40 series heater install
Hi all, recently bought a 77 fj40 and have just finished putting in the 327 chev. I was wondering if anyone had ever installed a heater in their 40? I bought a complete heater from the wreckers but I cant really work out how it goes in. thanks in advance!
you need the heater box, fan motor, air tubes from the motor to heater box & from the box to the screen if you want demisters & the pipes that run from the heater to the firewall, (there should be an oval shaped hole in the fire wall behind the clutch pedal that a grommet fits into this has 2 holes for the pipes to go through). Then you just bolt the box to the firewall (there sould be 4 bolt holes for it to attach to) & connect the heater pipes up. Then just put the tube that runs from the fan motor in placebolt on the fan motor & wire that up. There is also just the hooking up of the control cabels for the fan & the fresh air control.
Of course this is assuming you car has provisions for the fan & the heater box. hope this helps
