Cost Effective Maintenance vs Xado for engine treatment???

Post by Sammyboy »

G'day,
I have an 83 Mitsubishi Pajero 2.5 Turbo Diesel, which has travelled about 100,000km since rebuild. My car goes really well and is pretty reliable, but my engine is at times a bit noisy and it does consume a rather high amount of oil at times, depending on the driving (on road/off road) and the oil used. There are some products such as Cost Effective Maintenance (www.costeffective.com.au) with several products that i have heard good wraps about, and Xado Engine Revitalisation Gel (www.xadoshop.com.au). Has anybody heard any good or bad things about these products? Has anybody tried these products on their diesel (or petrol) engines? I would apprieciate it if anybody could offer me some advice on whether any of these products are good or not?

Thanks heaps, and feedback will be apprieciated,
Sam

100,00km is not that old, I wouldn't expect the engine to be in that bad shape at all.

If it's using -some- oil, it's not always a bad thing.

You may find changing to a thicker oil will mean it's "using" less.

Sorry I can't comment on the engine revitalisation thing, but I would try a thicker oil before I tried one of those things hey.
