I have a single cab with 33" muds 4.88 diffs and the holden auto and I get between 6 (offroad/hilly windy nz roads and a heavy boot) and 7.5ish (highway) kms per litre. The really cool thing is it is a swb so has the small fuel tank, I have a range of 250, 350 kms, good thing its hard to get to far from fuel over here. There is a guy in my club that has a v6 in a bundy and he says he gets 7 to 8 kms per litre, Im jelous.

that would be me

spent an entire evening on the dyno to diagnosing the problem
turns out the stock fuel map is no good for our heavy vehicles. to be precise anything over 30% on t.p.s. or 2300 rpm. after this stage a/f mixture was dropping to 9's and 10's...........

need a custom map by someone who knows what they are doing
if you were is s.a. i would recomend fours'n'more or awesome automotive

also have herd of another bloke with a lux and commo v6 here in s.a., exactly the same deal, crap fuel economy. his got remapped and it went down to 15L per 100km's

Worst case mine is 16 litres per 100kms. Can you reprogram the commo ecu or do you have to buy a "link" or similar computer. Hardly seems worth the trouble for $1.35 per 100kms.
Interesting info though.
Cheers.

Unless you have recalibrated your speedo it will be reading slow with the 33's, making the figures seem worse.

have v6 in my lux with 33' and auto get about 7k/l or bout 17L/100k
just bought a 1ggze charger for it and see what that does maybee drop the diff ratio a bit to drop revs i do about 400km a week on her mainly on road but also beach and some serious mud work and unbogging mates :) 25 times in last 2 weeks (out tree planting and seriously wet down here)
what u guys think of ratio diff cause its auto i figured have a bit of play with creeping ability just slowly load her up and i use 4L heaps

ideas?

OK, well I have VN commo so the same motor and get crap fuel economy, have spoken to my mechanic and he said the same thing will the ECU, and it is still a problem with the current commo and the ECO in the new rodeo's, he is apparently working with one of his mates and playing around with it to try and find the best combo and then they are going to start selling it.

Anyways, around town I get about 5-6k/l and on freeway/ open road about 10k/l.
