Where the air line fitting is tapped into the diff, can you take that out without opening the diff?
My rear locker isn't holding pressure when the diff's cold. I tracked it down to air leaking out around the fitting. I can't get my head in there enough, but it seems to be escaping between the brass fitting and the diff itself.
To try and stop the leak (before I properly tracked it down) I recently took the line out, and plumbers taped the thread for the olive joint thingy, and where it threads into the diff fitting, but never thought about the actuall fitting into the diff itself.
Would that be a warranty thing if it's started leaking air out there? It holds pressure well when the diff is hot and the oil is circulated... But when it's been sitting there the compressor has to kick in every 10 secs etc.......
There should be no air in the diff housing so you have either a leaking seal housing seal, a leaking piston seal or a damaged copper line.
If it was proffessionally installed then it is a warrenty item.

agreed, it has an internal problem - either the steel line, the o-rings, or the u-ring is leaking. the air is probably coming out of your axle breather.
is it leaking when it is "cold" or is it leaking when it has sat for a while and the oil has drained away from the seals?
air will leak out where the fitting goes if the seals are stuffed becuase this fitting is only a joiner from the blue line to the copper line.. it doesnt necicerily have to be sealed in the diff housing.. so once air leaks out your seals into the diff housing it then leaks out this fitting.. check your breathers are breathing too.. when my seals were gone i had air pissin out the breather.. i took the centre out dropped it to arb, cost me 160 for new seals and new carrier bearings and labour.. yours should be warrenty tho.

If the olive is not sealing it will leak around the threadedcap. If its coming out the thread tapped into diff its pressure from in diff housing (how is your breather? If breather blocked heat from oil will make air from here too.
Last night I extended my breather. Turns out the breather was 100% locked close from shyte.
Just now I have been doing some reading on the links in the Tech Bible and found some info in Tonka's thread relating to problems caused by a blocked breather.
I haven't had a chance to test it out now that the breather is clear. But i'm hoping it may be the problem. I guess the only question now is whether the problem caused by the blocked breather is irreversible. It's in the shop getting the front fitted now, so we'll see later......
