ok cant be bothered lookin at previous posts! what could cause my petrol maverick to run absolutly crap and blow smoke and fart etc etc first thing in the morn till it warms up?

Hey mine does it too, but runs sweet when it warms up. I get used to it. Tried everything.
06 Grand Vitara Prestige, 2" lift, Kumho A/Ts, ARB winch bar, snorkel, spotties. Also a Regal 2150 LSC Volva Penta 350 gsi duoprop, and a kayak ;-)

I cant be bothered either so I agree with Screwy. Water gets into cylnders with remaining pressure left in the radiator overnight giving wet plugs in the morning.Screwy_ScrewBall wrote:blown head gasket is a possibility also

sticking choke links and butterfly will cause these symptoms try cleaning them all up with carbon cleaner in a can like nulon or one of those products.

petrol vapours are what burns not the actual petrol liquid. When you start the car in morning the fuel is all cold therefore not in its most combustible state. After a few minutes of fuel running through pump and getting returned to tank it warms up and becomes easier to burn therefore smooth running. Timeing, mixtures and engine condition do play a part also. Jut a bit of a carby thing!
