Greetings,
I discovered a leaking water pump on my TD42 yesterday, so I'm off to Autopro to get a replacement this morning......along with belts etc....I figure while I've got it off, I may as well do the lot
However, while I was looking for the leak, I also discovered that my fan has a cracked blade, right down where it joins the hub. It looks like it's been there for a long time (the inside of the crack isn't 'clean' as such.....got loads of crap in there), so is it something I should be looking to rectify ASAP, or could I leave it a while until I find a good one at the wreckers or something?
Awesome. Just bought one off the site. Free postage.....nice touch
I discovered it's cracked at the base of every blade except one, so it's going in the bin.
Changed the water pump this arvo.....what a pain in the arse of a job that is. Ended up pouring a couple of litres of coolant all over the garage floor when I undid the engine drain bung.....there's really no way of stopping it from splashing all over the place as far as I can see
Took me ages to get the remnants of the old gasket off! But, after some well chosen words and a much cleaner than usual garage floor, all is well again......except for the fan of course.
