Go to bunnings and buy about 2 metres of condute and 3x 45 bends to suit, I used 75mm .look under your bonnet and where you see an inlet coming out off your air box take all that crap out leaving the piece that has the hot/cold valve, now your left with a round air box with one inlet pointed towards the head light, block it up good, now your left with the other inlet pointing towards the side of the car, inline with that inlet cut a round hole in your guard so your 45 will fit in it,connect that to the inlet with some pipe, then cut some condute to go along the guard and then put a 45 on to make it go up the winscreen and then use the last 45 and cut 2 slits in it so u can put a down pipe adaptor on it so it looks halve normal.and mount it with a bit of thin tin on the pillar.if you want exact measurements i supose i can get of my lazy ass for a fellow west aussie.
Snorkels are mostly used for if you do water crossings. They do force more cold air in so yes it would benefit on the beach but not much. Check ur rad for broken fins as mine has new rad now and does not heat up at all.

Not yet,i have given mine a fair bash and why don't you look at a real snorkel.because my mate has a safari and it is a weak POS.If i am going to brake my snorkel i would wipe of my roof racks too. What would you rather, brake the snorkel or rip the mounts out of your car and leave a nice little rust hole.grimbo wrote:Th eproblem with using conduit is if you clip a tree etc it will explode into lots of little bits and pieces. they aren't designed to to take any sort of impact. Better off getting an exhaust shop to bend you up one
Well I have seen conduit ones explode whhen given a fair wack. Safari ones are made from different material and will dent and sometimes burst but won't explode like the conduit does. Mine is made from steel tube and is strong enough to support the weight of the vehicle on without bending etc.suzy wrote:]Not yet,i have given mine a fair bash and why don't you look at a real snorkel.because my mate has a safari and it is a weak POS.If i am going to brake my snorkel i would wipe of my roof racks too. What would you rather, brake the snorkel or rip the mounts out of your car and leave a nice little rust hole.
I would rather thhe snorkel either took the impact or break but I would not want it to explode sending sharp shards of conduit everywhere potentialy injuring someone

Anyone know what the part number for the Safari Snorkel that Rocky Road sell:
http://www.rocky-road.com/zuksnorkle.html
They say its only available through them, but I suspect if you knew the part number you could order it from any Safari distributor.
I had a look against some of the other models they do and it doesnt look like they would fit a Samurai.
Any ideas.
