hilux extra cab body length

Post by 85lux »

i need to know how much longer an extra cab body is over single cab. i currently have a single cab, will be putting on an extra cab soon. this week i am making a new tray and want to make it to suit the extra cab.
i was hopeing somebody could measure the distance from the door to the back of the cab (at door handle height.) so i know how much longer the cab will be.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Not till after 89 were they different. Everything before that were the same.

not quite
the chassis lenth was the same on pre89 extra cabs but the body was different, not sure if the 84-88 Xtra cab had IFS

84-88 trays fit single cabs fitted to 4Runner/Surf chassis which was shorter than Hilux chassis
good for making SWB Hilux if you have a leaf spring 4Runner chassis with surf eng/gbox

my 86 extra cab has live axle front.

Make sure that you take into account that the cab mounts will be different. The ext cab rear mounts are almost at the very back edge of the cab

Did you even read what i was replying to??? The doors are all the same between Single Cab,Dual Cab and Extra Cab till 89 when the 3rd generation hilux Started.

An 84-88 EXTRA CAB tray will fit on a 4Runner Chassis when running a single cab.
