Is anybody out there running msd multiple spark discharge like MSD6AL for example on any EFI engines,I would be keen to know if you have had any problems.I have been told they can cause interference with sensors but I've never seen any evidence of this,The bloke that told me this is normally full of BS anyway.
cheers for any feedback
scott

msd ignition on EFI
Moderator: -Scott-
I've run an MSD6AL on a EFI V8 engine for years, no problems at all. I know of many others who installed them too without problems on V8 EFI engines. The only problem I have heard of is the engine continuing to run after shutdown. The solution is to install a large capacitor in the +ve wire to the MSD unit. This problem and solution is documented in their supplied instructions. Don't know what your application is, but unless you are running a souped-up boosted engine, you're wasting your money on the MSD ignition.
cheers for that dave,Im already running an msd6al on my rangerover which I fitted to supply a bit bigger spark to fire LPG in a high compression motor.Im about to fit a 3.9 efi motor with after market computer but I want to retain the msd (that rev limiters handy when the right foot gets too heavy) thanks for the feedback.
