SOA Vs SUA

Post by Spartacus »

the nissan diffs ive bought for a diff conversion have a large
pumpkin n housing, reducing diff clearance to the rails, sump etc

the new diffs are 130mm wider, but they are 90mm dia.

would it be wiser to go SOA & flat leafs and only gain ~40mm width
or stay SUA and get h/duty leaves for clearance keeping the 130mm

I was under the impression that flat leaves worked better. Mind you I could also be speaking out of my ass.

I'm assuming that they're MQ diffs?

If so the drivers side knuckle is cast and some would say is a PITA to weld to. It has been done before but you need one hell of a welding machine to do it.
