Crossmember T-case style mount

Post by bubs »

Ok guys an update

Cause i didn't have a template cut at work i made one from paper (work was a bit slow) on my truck it fits perfectly - so they will be ready for cutting this week

cost will be $75.00 plus freight (for a limited time only)

BJ - i need you to put a tape meausure between the inside of you're frame rails to see if there is much difference between cruiser and hilux

any queries feel free to pm me or reply to this thread

budbuilt / snake style like what is on my truck should hopefully be ready in about another 6 weeks time

Hey bubs,

About how much thinner are yours compared to original?

What do you need to do about transfer rubbers?

Any pics at all?

Thanks,

The crossmember that Bubs is currently working on is similar to the one below but is all flat not tube.

This is Toymad's crossmember he made himself.

$75+freight is way cheap and i would expect most shops to charge more like $3-400 for it with mounts.

The only reason im not buying one is i allready got one off Bubs a long time ago but mine is modified and is more like Toymad's as i needed more drivetrain lift (5") than i could get the way Bubs makes them.

Bubs to be honost and i think others will agrea if you want to sell numbers of these you need to think about how cheap you can realy sell these things. If your work gets the shits with you doing them then you are going to be the one that looks bad when you need to double the price because you need to get someone else to do them.

People dont mind paying $$$ if they are getting a good product that can be supplied on demand.

I think you realy need to look at how much they will cost you if you need to get them done else where. Dont sell yourself short.

Do these use any existing parts at all? Like rubbers mainly?

I assume you need shorter chassis mount bolts?

Sounds good Bubs,
Which crossy gives more clearance?
The one like toymads or the snake racing style?
How much you charging for the snake/bud built style cross-member?

I'm well keen to do something about my rampover angle.
With the 31's I hit that damn crossmember EVERY time.

Cheers,

toyo truck - i havn't looked into costing on those style cross members

clearance between the both is about the same if the t-case output housing mount style is mounted at stock driveline height

the advantage with that style is you can easily push the case up a few mm

Looks good Bubs,

How thick is the steel you cut them from (mm)?
And how do they attach to the frame rails?
(What else will I need to fit it to the lux)

Sorry to seem like a dumbass, I havn't mucked around
with crossmembers before.

nah made it myself, just about fell together

actually bootiefab engineering built it, but with many many thanks to ruff hilux, strange rover and bj, it was done quickly and easily.

ruff had all the gear, i had the car to pick it all up, sam had the gear to fab it and between ruff and me and sam there was enough know-how to go around

cheap too.

pics are coming

10 mm Nice!
I was expecting 5 - 6 mm but 10 is fine :D
That should be more than enough.
How does it mount to the chassis though? Just with the standard mounting
holes and bolts from the original crossmember?

BJ, did I read right? LEXUS-buggy? You put the 4L V8 Quad-cam into
your landee?? Nice one bruvva!! That's 208 Kw on tap isn't it??

450 KW!! NICE!!
That's axle-snapping country ain't it!!
Who says Toyota can't make a V8??

These "all new mounts" are they supplied with
the crossmember? Or are you only supplying
the cross-member itself and we source the rest of the parts?

Cheers,
Bart
