how do i change this? how do i get it out? the motor is still in the car, but gearbox is out.
do i undo the 5 bolts that hold the plate on around it and take it out? or is this not a good idea?
thanks

if the box is out....
pull the clutch and flywheel off. this will expose the rear main seal.
pull it out with a seal puller/ screwdriver...
replace it with a new seal... make sure it goes in strait.

I also put a *light* smear of gasket making silicon on the outside too... just to be extra special.
I don't know if this is advisable, but I've never had a problem after doing this.
Good luck,
Adam
