G'day guys
My 40 series fuel and temp gauges have both stopped working at the same time can't see anything obvious, does any one has any sugestions.
And how is this for lucky...just went away for the weekend four wheeling, temp gauge broke yesterday. Coming home tonight travelling a couple of hours down the highway I decided to stop for a coffee. After buying a coffee I am walking back out to my truck and I noticed the dreaded green blood dripping on the ground ,Hose burst maybe a few km's before stopping. remember no temp gauge could have ended a lot worse

yeah those 2 gauges are on the same fuse on mine, check all your fuses. My fuse had a dirty connection in the fuse holder, the gauges would drop out all the time, gave the contacts a clean and never had a prob again.
Some useless info - i had this problem on my old ute many many moons ago - i used to bash the glass over the guage with my fingertips and sometimes it would come back to life - i think i ended up buying another cluster, but not sure??
It was a real Grimace problem, and wasn't an obvious fix..

Yeah mate i used a multi meter and test light your not a toser after all you have no idea what my skills are
why not pull out the cluster n check the nuts holding the guages to the circuit board...maybe they have come loose...? i havnt had a look behind mine yet...i'm not 100% sure how they mount behind so its only a guess

Problem turned out to be with the plug connected to the fuel tank sender it was filled with mud. It also had a earth in the plug which I am assuming caused the temp guage not to work also
hmm i shall look into this, as i tried fuse swaps, jigglign wires, slappign the panel,yellign at it, etc and none of those worked.
i still have no temp, no fuel, no oil pressure.
I think the wire he speaketh of is the one under your driver seat which plugs into the fuel guage sensor on top of the fuel tank. Obviously only if your cruiser is the model with the tank inside the cab - not sure with shortys though, this was in my ute.

Yeah thats the one only my tank is under the floor being a diesel and accessed via an inspection cover behind the seats

its about now i wish that between my seat and the tank want a nice pretty wooden carpeted box which has to be pulled up also. hmmm be interesting to see......
