not really worth it,

a collared eyebolt will do the same thing,

but a collared eyebolt with a bow shackle is even better.

the stylish dude modelin the points is me  who flash POS is that in the back ground :finger:
i have seen these work to great affect in a couple of competions now....OBC 05 and ascc etc you can order these in from most rigging shops as you can see they arent cheap but from what i saw and how well they worked in winching events they have my vote...... yeah we thort of emma when i showed hoonz

i recon they have a deffinate advantage ove the conventional rated eye and hooks as they rotate 360 degrees and fold a further 180 degrees and has a 4 tonne swl very sexy i recon.... was wondering why more competitors dont run them..... as for still using a d shackle that it a thing of the past the best thing to use is 2 rated self locking rigging hooks joined together....... heaps quicker and no fumbling with the d shackle and loosen pins in the mud and in the dark......

  explain to me how a collared eyebolt wood do the same thing and still be able to take a load with out compromising its integrity and eye bolt wood either snap or be damaged if it was being pulled side ways..... besides the size of the same rated eyebolt to the RUD point is huge and wood compromise approach and departure angles i know this because i have 2 rated eyes on the front of my bull bar and they have been coppin an absolute floggin

a collared eye bolt can take side loads,

u might be thinking of a plain eye bolt, used for straight lifting.

but if ya want to run em, go for it, just my opinion that i wouldn't run them.

When you say it has a 4 tonne BREAKING STRAIN I get concerned.
A conventional Forged hook does not Break it Straightens which leaves no metal missiles coming back to greet you when used with a snatch strap.
The Bushranger Hooks straighten @ 4.8 Tonnes.
We also get a chrome hook over here through a rigging company that straightens @ 9.8 Tonnes.

it would be 4t rated with a certain safety factor, I havn't had any dealing with them so can comment but if the riggers use em they wil l be safe
If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!

the 4ton rating is a safe work load ... the actual max it could take would be 3x that amount

your SWL is measured on a straight pull, it reduces when u introduce angles.

also i think RUD points are more for static pulls,

sorry if i seem like i'm just givin negative points,

also, thats a myth about being x3 over SWL, it's not true

it's more 1/3 being about 5.2. but u wouldn't put that much load on em.
