Little bit off topic, but what are the rules on campfires?? Are they allowed? Bring in own wood?? Can wood off the property be used??

Campfires are OK and there is plenty of fire wood near the camping area so no need to bring your own.

Good chance that we will have to bail out too... been waiting on some parts (shafts etc) that haven't turned up yet, and the shafts still have to be cut and splined, and monday is a public holiday... it's just not working in my favour, damn it.

Slight chance if the parts turn up today we will be there, otherwise we are out.

I'd still outdrive you if I was in a Lada :finger:

Mine is still lying derelict at Berridale

Even if it was fixed I wouldnt be competing. I am just keen to have a bit of fun in the buggy. I can get a whole weekend of driving done for the cost of the entry fee ;) Not to mention towing, trailer, fuel, time off work etc etc etc

I just can't afford to compete. But I will still drive as much as i can

he's right about the costs though. $1500 to drive 8 stages is pretty expensive.

i'm just doing this, and the victorian round, then it's recro wheeling only.

I dont need to compete to prove I dont have a little pecker  :finger:

Seriously though, I cant justify the $$$ for 20 minutes driving :? I can drive all weekend and have change for a couple of cheap hookers for those $$$  (My wife will kill me for that one  )

Thats not to say the comp wont be awesome - I am 100% sure it will RAWK HARD  But its just not for me at this stage.

There is more to comps then just the driving, its the whole attmesphier (spelling?) the yelling and screaming from the crowds the excitment of watching the scores to see if you can win or place or atleast bet a set person of your choice. The be honest the driving is the best bit by far but it all comes into what you are getting for ya money.

Some interesting replys here......

I know i will cop it for what i am about to say, but guys save it for next weekend and yell abuse at me when i roll or bust my shiat!

I have always said that QLDers are far more dedicated to the growth of competitive rockcrawling in Australia and therefore far more advanced in what we are driving.

I totally agree with what many have said. Everyone has different comitments in life, work, family and therefore places strain on the Financial side of things. Hey i know if there was not a Rockcrawling comp in my state or area i would more than likly not compete. I suppose i would first of all complain that there was no events in my area and that all the good events that i am keen to compete in are held too far away and i would really hope and express my concern that unless events are held outside that certain area then its going to die out.

I can also see that because of such domination from QLD in regards to Rockcrawling it may scare a few competitors off. So it should, all the competitors i know are stuck up and are there just too win.

I also agree that its a lot cheaper to go wheeling with ya mates. The same mates, the same areas, the same terrain, the same cars, the same amount of adrenaline sure would get exictiting after a while, hey i know i've been there and done that. I suppose to that its NOT to good to step outside your comfit level every now and then. Its great fun to wheel with ya mates but its even more fun to wheel with a bunch of new mates and its even better when theres 1000 of your mates cheering you on. But again i suppose us Qlders are past that and have to wait for the rest of the country to catch up.

Guys its all in good fun, its totally up to the individual whether or not they want to step up and assist in the growth of a great motorsport which can only bring bigger and better things to the WHOLE 4wdriving community.

This event will have more than enough competitors as there are a few others from off the site that have entered. It also doesn't really matter how many people compete as long as the QLDers are there it will be awesome to watch in awe to how far advanced there are............

Oh by the way GO QUEENSLAND for a 4 - Nil white wash of the WEROCK series and a 2 - Nil white wash of the Origin series!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Maybe it has something to do with location of the events  I dont see too many QLDers winning WEROCK USA or WEROCK South Africa

Are you for real  So unless you are in a QLD comp, there is no way in the world you can be wheeling hard stuff  :? Dude, you seriously need a reality check.

Maybe thats a part of the reason I am not competing. The elitist attitude of some of the competitors. I know friendly 'ribbing' etc when I see it, but its the "we are the 1st, we are the best, we are the pioneers, we know everything" attitude that wears thin after a while.

Now you can all piss and moan about Sooky Shorty40  It just seems if your opinion or thoughts are different to QLDers the you are a fool or a pussy

Mmmmm - rant over - peace
