Future of XRCC

Post by XTREME MMM »

XRCC has been a pleasure to run, and over the last couple of years it has been a big learning curve for all concerned.

This year I have had a great group of very supportive competitors, spectators & officials that have made this possible.

It has been great.

But due to the high cost of PL insurance it has made these Rounds very costly as an organiser.
Yes I have just received my quote for PL Insurance and yes at the usual great cost. To keep my insurance costs down (cut it in half) and only run events that have been well and truly covering the costs of running such an event would be the easy way out. These events (XWC) which have been covering XRCC costs for the last 2 years, will of course continue.

As for the future of XRCC losing dollars, but with a great group of supporters, and having a lot of fun running it, I am affraid to say that the writing has been on the wall since Round 1 this year

So who cares about the dollars, lets look to the future "We are here for a good time not a long time", XRCC will continue into the future.

There will be 1 more Round this year and 2006 may see 4 in the first half, depending on venues for the event.

Now it is up to you competitors to make this work, I have done what I can at the moment.

Stick with it.

Appeal to a new generation of people and you'll get plenty of action.

You seem to have a great group of people that are competing these days so persevere with it and see how it goes.

My only thing would be to advertise the competitions a lot more. Let everyone know what is on offer and what they can expect.

Perhaps explain what it is actually about and the rules which are put in place to score the comp.

Just a thought.......

Cheers

good on ya for stickin with it, i will certainly be giving it a crack in the future. ;)

there needs to be a comp series around that is primarily rockcrawling orientated, but isnt so 'extreme' as to being buggy only (which is what werock will be like next year)., so that 'normal' rigs can run in

GREAT NEWS DAVE  I've had a ball at the last two rounds and you can count me in for all the upcoming rounds. As Antt said it's a great comp for people who don't want to do the crazy shiat but still want something challenging. Maybe some flyers or something would be the go, I know of a few shops here in Toowoomba as well as mine that would be keen to put some on the front counter.

Next Round will be advised in the not to distant future.

Thanks for the support.

And by the way XRCC is NOT AN ENRTY LEVEL COMP, "IT IS TOP LEVEL" these guys (competitors) put a lot of effort and dollars into this event, it is not my fault that no one else will come and play with them.

Dave

I'm always keen as to compete,it is just the traveling that really kills it for me.
If maybe some venues a little closer to sydney, that would be encourage more competitors from down south..

what i meant by entry level is that a vehicle that is registered and can be driven on the road can still enter the event ...
i was not saying the drivers are not up to the job
