I need to get a GPS for work( have employee who cant read and when I send him out to customers I have to draw on street directory with highlighter the way he has to go, so I go through a lot of books.)But best worker Ive ever had.
Anyway needs to have voice command and be able to go from car to car as needed. Compat. with laptop and also to be able to use offroad.
I can spend about $1500.00
I have looked at the latest QUEST but not sure. What is everybody else useing?

Navman is excellent for street navigation. With voice commands to tell you where to go. They have some great programs for it. They are not a normal GPS in the fact that you can pinch it on the weekend and use for off roading.

Buy yourself a PPC (Pocket Personal Computer,) CF or bluetooth GPS and get Destinator 3 for road stuff and Oziexplorer CE for offroad.
I got all the hardware for under $300 through Ebay. Plus a 1gig SD card for another $95 so I can load heaps of maps without having to sync or compromise memory.
Problem is he would need to be able to read to get the programme running and put the street etc in. Although he probably has workarounds for that sort of thing or you can enter the info to get him up and running.

Totally agree I have used on this week for work, it is excellent, will re-route you if you miss a turn (in 10 or so seconds) and you can program favorites - like work etc etc so he can go out to an address and then just select work and it will take him back there.toughnut wrote:Navman is excellent for street navigation. These cost about $1k (at least the one I have been using does) and it comes with software, car mount, car charger nav unit.
