12H-T 24 to 12 volt conversion
Apart from the starter and alternator, does anyone know of any hassles putting the donk into a 12 volt vehicle?, such as sensors, manifold air heater etc?. Someone suggested the 24 volt imports have a 12 volt transformer for all accesories except for the starter, alternator and globes but I'm not yet convinced. Thanks.
Re: 12H-T 24 to 12 volt conversion
are you converting a motor or a vehicle? to convert the motor pretty much all you need to change is the starter and the regulator (the alternator will make 12V with a 12V regulator, but the current capacity might be a bit ordinary). throw the glow screen away (do 12H-T have a screen or plugs?) either way it is more for emissions and less for actual starting - direct injection motors will start in subzero conditions with no glow.turbo4t wrote:Apart from the starter and alternator, does anyone know of any hassles putting the donk into a 12 volt vehicle?, such as sensors, manifold air heater etc?. all the engine management will need to be sourced too
ie the glow system (if you thrpow awayu screen can throw this to) the EDIC controller. YOu should be able to use alot of the sensors directly of a 2H.
Re: 12H-T 24 to 12 volt conversion
does 12H-T use EDIC or does it have a air shutoff butterfly 13B-T style?Shadow wrote:12HT has screendumbdunce wrote:are you converting a motor or a vehicle? to convert the motor pretty much all you need to change is the starter and the regulator (the alternator will make 12V with a 12V regulator, but the current capacity might be a bit ordinary). throw the glow screen away (do 12H-T have a screen or plugs?) either way it is more for emissions and less for actual starting - direct injection motors will start in subzero conditions with no glow.turbo4t wrote:Apart from the starter and alternator, does anyone know of any hassles putting the donk into a 12 volt vehicle?, such as sensors, manifold air heater etc?. good point, i just assumed an edic since the 2H used one.dumbdunce wrote:does 12H-T use EDIC or does it have a air shutoff butterfly 13B-T style?Shadow wrote:12HT has screendumbdunce wrote:are you converting a motor or a vehicle? to convert the motor pretty much all you need to change is the starter and the regulator (the alternator will make 12V with a 12V regulator, but the current capacity might be a bit ordinary). throw the glow screen away (do 12H-T have a screen or plugs?) either way it is more for emissions and less for actual starting - direct injection motors will start in subzero conditions with no glow.turbo4t wrote:Apart from the starter and alternator, does anyone know of any hassles putting the donk into a 12 volt vehicle?, such as sensors, manifold air heater etc?. Some googleing indicates they use some sort of a solenoid with a air shutoff as you suggest. If this is the case then converting a 12HT to a 12v should be pretty easy. A donor 2H would still come in handy i think. (for LOOM and sensors, altenator etc etc)
