where to dispose of diesel legally ? in Sydney
Hey guys,
I want to drain the fuel tank on my hilux. I just bought it recently and it hasn't been started in a couple of years.
It's still got old diesel in it and I want to get rid of it.
Where do I dispose of it correctly ? I live in Sydney.
Thanks,
Daniel.

you could dilute it with used(BLACK) engine oil then just tip it in the waste oil thing at the tip its black so the tip guys wont know.carts wrote:Put it in a suitable container and take it to a waste disposal station. They have facilities for disposing of oil, so i would assume you can dispose of diesel also.
otherwise keep it as parts cleaner, next time you gotta do wheel bearings or cv's youl be glad you did!
it doesnt go off but it absorbs water slowly so eventually you have really really crap fuel.dumbdunce wrote:use it as fuel. drain any water off the bottom of the tank and just use it, it will be fine. diesel doesn't go 'off' like petrol.
also i think the algea buildup in a tank thats been sitting for 2 years would be pretty bad. best to do a clean as he intends.
