WE Rock - Round 2 - Bathurst NSW 18/19 June

This event will have more than enough competitors as there are a few others from off the site that have entered. It also doesn't really matter how many people compete as long as the QLDers are there it will be awesome to watch in awe to how far advanced there are............
POS You are everyones HERO Why don't you actually read what you have written .You are doing more harm to what Sam is trying to do than good. With comments like that will turn many Competitors off let alone the spectators.
Sure you might have the first Moon buggy in competition BIG DEAL . Mat Dunk and the Trailcraft boys were the first to have a full tube buggy in Aus over 2 years ago what were you driving then??
I want the sport to grow just as much as anyone but attitudes and comments like yours are going to help.

Adrian before you go getting all high and mighty you should check the competitor list
4 QLD
3 NSW
1 VIC and i also now of 1 other from NSW that will be running so to say that people are not stepping up to have a go is a little over the top,you QLD's are out numbered.
Its also easy to say QLD is more dedicated to the growth of rockcrawling than other states but all your buggies that are running have been financed by someone else even if there being payed back. Now i know we could all go and get a loan to build a buggy though its not practical for all.
Also you have acess to areas were you are able to drive an unrego'ed vehicle, these areas in NSW are almost non existent.
I also feel the know-all attitude of some QLD's would be turning prospective competitors away from the sport rather than encouraging them to build.
Finally i am at this point unable to afort to build my own buggy yet im still spending money to compete in a uncompetitive vehicle to help with numbers and the growth of the sport as well as posting the W.E.Rock flyers to every club in NSW & ACT at my own cost to further encourage sectator support.

I think Adrian is trying to be a just a little bit sarcastic and jee a few people up as he has been known to do.
This competiton is sure to be a good one. There are 6 tube buggies from up here that will be competiting. Plus the guys from down south.
I guess that we were just hoping that a few more new competitors would compete in a central NSW event especially with all the smack talk that happens on this site.
So Shorty 40 - what do you need to compete. Im sure i can round up fuel money and entry fee if you decide to step up and compete - consider your self sponsored by outerlimits. Easy way to tell if you are wheeling hard stuff or not. Im being serious here. If this still doesent get you there what else do you need??

For fark sake, Can anyone that knows me honestly say that, that is what i would say. It was all just a gee up.
I have NEVER sprused to anyone about winning this and having that, its not me. I have been in a far bigger and more competitive sport than this and i know when someone thinks they are "all high and mighty" than its not long for them to get a spanking. I have NEVER once said i was better than anyone else in a SERIOUS conversation.
I am sorry if people have read it and thought i was been serious, i wasn't. I suppose thats the downfall of the internet. Maybe i should have put a few more or then it may have been taken as a light harted joke.
For all the people that have never met me please do not read it as a serious comment, it was all just a huge gee up that has obviously back fired. I am SORRY.
For those that do know me, you should know that i only say things like that in good fun.
To those competitors that i may have insulted or upset, again i do appoligise sincerly. You have your own reasons for competiting or not competiting.
And on a final note i thought that my State of Origin comment about Qld winning 2 - 0 would have been enough for people to see i was joking!

I think my "bloody Queenslanders" comment should have showen that I thought you was geeing people up. But I wasn`t 100% on my thoughts that that was what you were doing, thats the interent and not face to face thing coming into it.POS wrote: i thought that my State of Origin comment about Qld winning 2 - 0 would have been enough for people to see i was joking!
Fair enough, We should know you better as i have never found you personally to be like this.
Please dont get me wrong with out you guys the sport would be going no were.
I geuss we all have a passion with the sport and in some way feel we are doing what we can to help the sport alone, be it competing or spectating or much more as some Qlders are doing . Sams offer to Dan is extremly jenerous and i hope it gets him there as it would be great to see him mixing it up with the Boys

POS SERIOUS CONVERSATION
I would not count that out, considering quite a few of the buggys will be new and untested and quite a few of the buggys have been changed and are also untested. This allows a lot of room for unexpected breakages, drivers not been use to the new set-up and of course Comp nerves due to people (spectators) having high expectations.
Take into account that the Full bodied rigs would have been well tested and the drivers would be really use to how they handle and most of these guys would feel less pressure as they have nothing to prove. We have all seen Beebee and greg dish it up more than once.
Dan, if that were the case then why on earth would i try and do something like this.......Shorty40 wrote:Maybe thats a part of the reason I am not competing. The elitist attitude of some of the competitors. I know friendly 'ribbing' etc when I see it, but its the "we are the 1st, we are the best, we are the pioneers, we know everything" attitude that wears thin after a while.

i have to apologise to dan (shorty40) for not getting his vehicle back together in time, so i might as well do it here and hopefully stop the spectators hacking on him too badly for not having a drive.
i thought i would be able to scratch together enough time to get it done, but i haven't even come close. haven't even been able to put more than a few hours into my own half finished vehicle in the last month, but that is another story.
and from what i have seen in the photos, and from what tazz and sam k have told me after building the courses, the terrain is not hard or technical enough for the buggies to really shine over the full bodied cars. i think the winner will be the driver who has the most consistent, clean drives over the weekend, regardless of their vehicle of choice.
and, sarcasm or not, i hope the qld vehicles all fall to bits.

mmmm - thats the best bit about all this - nobody really has any idea about what is going to be in the courses. Its one thing to test the terrain and drive the easiest possible lines (which has been done) but its another thing to drive the lines that are forced by the cones.

If anybody is looking for a ride between Brisbane and Bathurst and back, I'm leaving Thursday night (or maybe early Fri morn) and returning some time Monday. I have a spare seat or two if anyone is keen. Call me on 0439 998 260 as I won't be on here again before the weekend.
Good luck to ALL competitors!

What are the organisers/property owners thoughts on fireworks over the weekend Question.
Well considering they are firework experts themselves, I think they`ll have that angle covered.
But there maybe no sky open for firerworks, as the weather is looking very wet all weekend.

As far as I know, Cheezy's phone is still not working...
But I spoke to him today, and he is burning the mid-day, mid-night, and mid-everything else oil to get Hammertime together...
He has done some, rather exciting, transplants from the Mav... inlcuding that silly Chev of his. Power to weight on this puppy will... be... insane.
Still working on the barkes, steering, cooling, wiring, etc.
I will be picking up my axel shafts tonight, and as long as they fit we'll hit the road tomorrow bound for Bathurst! If they don't, we'll have to kick in plan 'C'... the commodre SV8 rockcralwer.

i heard a rumour hes running a full drag chute and an RPM spec bean bag for extra lumbar support
Cheezy and Rob have been working on Hammer time untill about mid night every night and since Rob has been putting in the hard hours and work to help cheezy out I am stepping aside as Cheezy`s spotter this time which I think is more then fair since Rob is helping Mark get it finished.
From what I have been told the Motor, auto, T cases, (not the diffs), seats, harnesses and the 42`s have come off the Mav and the diffs have come out of his blue GQ wagon. All this is going into the buggy (for now)
