94 disco advise
just brought a 94 disco and have fitted 2" kings, rsx 9000s, custom spring clamps, removed rear sway bar, droped front sway bar 2 inches and fitted a rancho stabiliser and also have a 2" body lift on its way but what i am wondering is about tyres i have 245 75 16 but wish to go biggerhas any one fitted a set of 32's or bigger? any other advice would b apprecited

The first thing I would say is that IME the king springs are too stiff for rovers they stop them from articulating and can cause them to put their nose up in the air when wheeling. I had them in my 2 door rangie and it continually did this - I put the standards back in and it eliminated the problem.
You might needs some softer springs with 2" spacers (the standards work well like this) or some softer exteneded springs. Then I would worry about tyres, you won't pick up the benefit of the tyres till the springs are set up better.
The other things is to look into the legality of fitting tyres bigger than 245 - in Qld it would be outside what we are allowed to do - anything outside of 32s I think would be pretty much illegal for us
The front end radius arm bushes will be limiting your travel at the moment so you might want to look at slotted bushes - either way don't fit nolethane bushes unless there is oil of ps fulid all over them.
This is what I have learned from my ownership time - others opinions may differ - I hope phillip A posts here with his opinion he has previously stated that the people on OL don't know much about rover suspension

how do you go about slotted bushes as i have just had a fiddle with the shitta by putting it up on 2 car ramps i get a deadset shitload of articulation in the rear but fuckall in the front
the only thing i am worried about in the way of tyres is scrubbing legallity is just a minor inconveniance but the springs are progressive rate mounted on polly ethalene which is like selastic but dont wear (compliments of a rubber suspension sys of a dump truck an so far hav not been hung in the air so far touch mahogany

looks like you have a lot of flex out of the back end, the progressive rate springs might be better than the ones I had but it would be interesting to see what you car does when you are driving up a hill through rutted sections to see if the springs cause the car to sit up and drive under itself.
The slotted bushes, you need them pressed into you front radius arms, with your setup I would also check the brake lines have enough lenght on them. Search here on slotted bushes and there is a thread or two on them, strange rover probably has a set he could sell you

Its impossible to comment much about articulation wityhout knowing spring rates etc, but you will definitely have more if you lose the front stab bar.
Its no use having slotted bushes if you have a sway bar as it never reaches the shock length limit.IME.
My understanding from the posts here is that the slotted bushes are only a benefit when you have longer front shocks.
Re the articulation, what was the wheel on the ramp doing when the other was down? Were you near the bumpstop? That is the test of whether the springs are too hard. Any car wil show that degree of downward travel.
IF you have full articulationie your compressed spring is regularly touching teh bump stop on dynamic compression, you need abody lift for nything bigger than 245.75x16. IME 1inch is enough for 32 inch tyres. OR you can extend teh bumpstop if you do not care about articulation.
Those Scorpion "droop Kits" have longer bump stops to go with te dropped shock mounts. I cannot see the point really as the articulation remains the same and the suspension geometry is then wrong. Maybe the sills don't get as bashed.

the slotted bushes free up the bind caused by radius arm cycling.
the front end is allowed to react more to the true spring and shock rate, without bind affecting articulation/spring rate as much.
if you could imagine urethane bushes being very restrictive therefore affecting spring rate, then solid rubber(oe)are better.

i have just unbolted the front sway bar and it definately helped a lot
the shocks have 25 inches of travel which is enough 4 now any way i will see what happens when i fabricate my new rear shock brackes as they bind on the shocks at full travel i will keep you all posted on my budget build up
