Negative Headlight switching - lil help?

Post by P_Byrne »

I got myself a gizmo to remind myself to turn off my headlights - i can be a bit forgetfull

Thing is, the instructions say to connect red wire to headlamp fuse/line, and the black to something else in the fuse box that is only on when the ignition is.

You do that in a Sierra, and buzz away it goes. :(

How would you wire up a little buzzer like this in a zook with negative switching?

Any advice?

hi mate,

i had a similar issue with the remote for my car. it's boot switch release was negative triggered but the motor was positive operated.

what i did was wire in a relay to turn the negative signal into a positive.
basically you wire the relay as normal, but instead of earthing it to ground, use the negaitive trigger.

whenever the negative trigger is on, the relay is open.

there are probably other ways of doin it, this is fairly cheap, a bit of muckin round with wiring, but not too bad.

Cheers
