The kit noted in the above link (Performance Offroad Systems) double ended ram is the kit that we sell. Shane or Firetruck from Tuff Truck and who is on this forum is currently running the full kit so talk to him for an independent perspective. You can also speak to Dustin from Redbull Jeep on pirate as he also runs this kits in there comp trucks.ToyTruck wrote:not exactly the info you are after but worth a read before you buy

Let us know if we can help you out, you can also talk to Sean who manufactures the kit if you have more detailed questions sean@performanceoff-road.com
yep, I run the Performance Off Road kit supplied through ABT...
Kit is great, very complete. Comes with just about everything you need including clevis ends and heim joints. The hydro cylinder is amazing... it is super beefy. Mounts are top notch (just make sure you put threadlock on the bolts or they work loose... speaking from experience!). The reservoir with integrated spin on oil filter is a nice touch too.
Load reactive steering valve works a treat... I can vouch that without the engine running - with no hydraulic pressure from the pump - you still have steering. It's hard (like normal power steering with the engine off), but it works. AND you get return to centre like any other 'normal' steering system (as long as your wheel alignment is right!).
Oh, and mount the pump with the vacuum port at the TOP of the pump... I had mine mounted sideways at TTC and it just wouldn't bleed right. Still worked fine, but sounded ordinary and I have since swapped the pump with a new one that Sean from POS sent me... he sent it to me just in case I stuffed the first one up by mounting it sideways... great service.
You can order the cylinder in whatever stroke you like, and can specify how many turns lock to lock etc... I went for an 8" stroke cylinder and about 3 turns lock to lock.

Sean from ABT would be the guy to ask - he and Sean from POS helped me out with my kit. At a guess I would say maybe $2k ??
Includes a double ended hydro cylinder, a high flow high pressure pump (I think they are around 1600psi and 3.8Gpm ish...), load reactive steering valve (NOT an orbital valve... these are not well suited to automotive applications), an aluminium reservoir that is finned for cooling and has an integrated spin on oil filter, 4 heim joints, 2 clevis mounts, 2 mounts for the cylinder... what have I missed??
I sold my old steering system for around $650 ish, so that and some help from ABT and POS kept the costs down for me a bit.
I just figured that I wanted to get a steering system that wouldn't need to be upgraded again... and be done with it. Do it right first time (or for me, third time??).
