puting a new engine in my zooki
puting a new engine in my zooki
I was thinking about puting a 1.6litre gemini engine in my 84 sierra and maybe put a turbo charger on it.
Any one else here done the same thing before or heard about it been done before.

Re: puting a new engine in my zooki
nope never heard of that swap
go for it
go for it
don't go the gemini as it is an old heavy engine. Do a search on here as it has been discussed but some good options are the Vitara 1.6 or the Sierra 1.3 for ease. Any of the corolla engines can be a good swap too
Or you could go the gearing route to drive a bigger tyre. What do you want more power for? What sort of driving do you do/want to do? What size tyres etc will play a big part in an engine choice

i'm gona run 31 inch tyres and bigger diffs i need an engine that will push that weight and the engine I got now is pisss weak.
make what phuckers fit?
Why do you need bigger diffs. Myself and Greg are running 34" swampers on stock diffs with air lockers so a 31 is fine. You need gearing not an engine to push the tyres. Look at the rockhopper gears or lower diff gears to compensate for the bigger tyres

RE
Again.. those corolla engines are years old and are still too heavy for the horsepower. I run 1600 efi vitara engines in my past 3 zooks and have had no trouble at all. Plenty of power and when matched with the rockhopper transfer case it does dreams with 31,s. I even had 33's on and it was ok. Bloody toyota engines.... A good way to f#$% up a spook. To get a good 1600 efi with decent programmable computer expect to pay nearly $3000... I bouht mine without computer and bought a LINK EMS computer. Rockhopper cases are under $1000 now (see bigballs.com.au). This is the best way without rooting around to see if a cheap ass conversion will work. Most spook drivers will agree that these are the ideal combo.

yeah but the price of vitra engines compared to corrolla and the likes, is the main thing for for most budget zooks, complete vitra engines cost more than the original cost of the suzuki in the first place most cases i know in my case it does. i agree with keepin suzuki engines but it comes down to how much u want to spend.

For the budget conscious....... not sure... I think of resale as well. Like anything ( i believe anyway), you get what you pay for. Not saying you should spend thousands, but dont do the cheapest conversion...
