clutch problems
clutch problems
Thismorning i jumped in my car ready to drive to school and to my dismay, THE CLUTCH DIDNT WORK . Could this have any connection to me driving through some very large puddles yesterday . Does anyone know what could be the problem. I can start the car in neutral but cant put it into gear. Does anyone know what could be the problem?

sounds like you may have filled up the clutch will water/mud... ?
get under the car and make sure the inspection plate is there and once you inspect the clutch, put it on super tight and seal it up with some silicon or something similar.
another thing to check may be your clutch cable - i had the same problem as you when out in the bush once - we popped the bonnet and found that the clutch cable had freyed and was nearly snapped off... to fix this i spent the whole day driving in 1st or Reverse and had to turn off the engine and start it again when ever i wanted to change gears - what a hassle.
a genuine suzuki clutch cabel is about 60 - 70 bucks last time i bought one.
cheers,
Greg

Thanks guys for the help. When i turned the moter over to try and go 4 metres into the garage i hopped forward about 3 metres before the battery went flat (very old battery, goes flat easy), i put the clutch in by habit and it worked. so it seemed all it needed was to go forward a bit.
