top 6 from the weekend were

1 - adrian..moon buggy
2 - pete antunac.....big 40
3 - tony....budgie
4 - shane... firetruck
5 - tom....homeless
6 - gonads... zuk buggy
and from memory dave(beebee) came in two points behind gonads so was a close event...

was a great weekend ( god damn freezing but) and was some great drives...i was lucky enough to be right next to the action as a scorer and had an absolute blast..thanks sam

was some awesome drives from the full bodied rigs over the weekend..pete,shane and the two daves were certainly competitive and always spectacular over the weekend and for entertainment would be hard to go past adrians self righting moon buggy on track 6 on sunday...
also impressive was ruffs drive on the final track and nam on every track...he flogged the ring outta the patrol all weekend and had a ball...

tom drove damn hard as usual and the homeless will never be the same again i dont think...

well done to the both sams and mick for the work you guys put in and to all the competitors for the show you put on over the weekend....

And what part of Pete's truck is full bodied??? The bonnet? It's practically as full bodied as all the other buggies running an original genuine bonnet

Pete did drive extremely well and first / second place would have been very close.

I reckon that Shane and zzzz in the Firetruck drove very very well all weekend. That is one sorted rig and good to watch in action.

Got back this morning after a LONG straight through drive- 14 hours

, was half falling asleep until Rod and I got to view Scotty's white bare ass a few times out the window of Daves commodore

. We took a wrong turn and ended up having to go through all the ranges,
WHAT A BIATCH it was to tow the buggy up the hills

Just a quick comment on Jeremy's buggy, I think it should stop being called a rush job as it is "being built" for god knows how long now, a little more effort could of been put in and we could of seen it competing (which i'm sure he would of liked to do) compared to any haultech buggy which can take 1 person around 4-5 weeks and you can guarantee it will be a competitive rig in the very next upcoming comp, it might be minus the BLING FACTOR but at least there are more competitors on the track

cold? i think not you people just weren't dressed apropriately.

2nd day well worth standing in the drizzle to watch , pete A good to see you drive that big yellow thing with passion after all the comps ive seen you drive this was the best and for me you were the most enjoyable to watch (or should that be hear) , NAM what a difference in your driving from day one to day two didn't take you long to get used to the buggy , but hats off to TOM and ROD first of for competing after the friday mishap

but than for doing so well and for always going the bonus lines , you were one of the big crowd pleasers well done.

Sam if i may just some thoughts ,how about having some type of recovery vehicle at both the ends of the course , it just seemed a bit silly to expect that big red 40 to climb out of course one on day two after trying again and again and again , and for the toilets to be a bit more central (not big things) but all in all a very enjoyable weekend and the positives far out way the small negatives.

I'm actually proud of the fact that you's are doing this with very little help and ('teamwork'), it puts out a good image. I don't know you personally and you don't know me personally so keep your accusations out of it,its childish:roll:
I'm entitled to my say without the backlash.

As for the EFFORTS dramatisation- it was the fact that i got the impression that this buggie was nearly finished and was ready and able to compete...obviously not.

nice comment mandy

....not everyone has a company funding their rigs to pay for all the necessary parts, to build a rig that they've already built 4 damn near identical copies of previously. nor have the ability to have 5 guys working 15hr days to get something built in 2 weeks

that being said, big arms up to antunac for doin so well in a HUGE rig, (compared to a moon buggy)....guess pete must be very in-tune with how it drives and handles to consistently do so well

and once again a thread gets ruined by petty squabbles.

Good to here the event went well. Be interested to hear Sam's impression on how it went and any improvements from an organisers stand point.

I'm sure once everyone gets home we will hear more but it would be great to hear from each competitor their thoughts on the event

hi there...

Yes, i had an major accident on the way to the grounds after gettin lost and misjuding a turn on a dirt road which a truck had previously crashed in the same spot leavin a 2 metre deep hole which i crashed into. The homeless's rear straps onto the trailer snapped sending the homless onto my roof and crushin it.

After making sure the family travelling with me was okay.. we got a lift back to the rockley pub via a nice lady who was kind enough to drive us there.. Many thanks to her.

Once there, it was organised with sam(strangerover), mick(bobtail), tony (ruff) , and wes (teamzook) to go and recover my GQ, the trailer and the homeless. It was a fair effort and once again it is very much appreciated.

And thanks to Kate (ruff's wife) and Bec (POS's wife) for looking after my family while i went back with the others to the accident site to recover my car.

Bad night aside... the weekend was yet to come...

Upon returnin to the site from the rockley hotel - stayed there due to the cold weather down here mainly because of my pregnant fiance.., Many thanks to the owner of the rockley pub (Tom and his wife??) for lettin us stay there, it was a very friendly atmosphere after dark and the dinners there were lovely and the chats were great.. even 'little tom' had a ball

At the site we gave the homeless a once over and apparently it wasnt turning over due to some electrical issues which Sam from overkill kindly stayed back while the others went to the comp site and gave me a hand to try to get it going. - owe ya a drink mate...

We finally got the homeless going.. many thanks to everyone who helped (sorry cant remember all your names,, but thanks

)

It was burning its points out which was the reason it kept stalling at some stages. Once i had the momentum going thru the stages, i progressed to improve my scoring into the negative numbers towards the end of the last run on sunday where it was decided with rod dirt'e (spotter) that we would keep attempting the bonus stage at the last round as we had nothing to lose and the crowd to entertain

Had an awesome time, and so did my family who came down, I couldnt see why we couldnt still have a good time even thou we had a bad misfortune.

Came 5th which i was very happy with considering that the competition was very well fought among competitors.

And a big thanks to ROD for spotting for me, and i hope we can continue as a team as we seem to do very well

.. he makes a good 'spottie' (spelling intentional

)

And a final thanks to Sam (strange rover) and Adrian (POS) for helping me get my family back to QLD.

Overall it was a great event, the cold snap and the wet proved to be awesome on sunday, I thoroughly enjoyed the mud driving to get out of some stages.

and congrats on POS for gettin first place.. it was well deserved after the effort he had put onto his buggy.

Bring on round 3!!!!!!

Sad to hear about the accident but amazing effort to then go ahead and still compete and manage a 5th. Awesome effort and attitude, well done.

Congrats to:
Sam for an awesome event! Pitty about the weather but i'm sure you can get that sorted for round 3!

Tom and Rod for putting in a great effort and coming 5th, especially after the bad run down from QLD.

Shane for the bling factor x 10 with the jeep.

Tony the show pony for doing exaxctly that!

Pete for really showing everyone how to drive! It's great to see a rig that huge drive those side angles and look so stable.

and last but not least, Congratulations to POS for the first drive of the moon buggy and to win. Awesome effort, just shows how a good navy (BeeBee) always wins comps.

I have to say though, how pissed was Fergo? What was that crap they were drinking from those kegs and who's idea was the hat with the bacon on it?

dunno but he started pouring me a ginger bear i think it was and then treid to mix it with stout and give it to me

and jeff will never be the same after fergo pulled the falseies out and cracked on to him

Had a wicked weekend everywhere between arriving and leaving... getting there sucked, leaving sucked, but enjoyed the comp heaps. Crowd was great - pity more couldn't make it, you missed alot of great action. Competition was intense but friendly... in general a nice vibe.

Big thanks to everyone who pitched in to help get all our vehicles/trailers/etc out - we didn't get the FireTruck on the trailer till 9pm, and just arrived home an hour or so ago... long ass weekend, no sleep on the way there and straight into competition, and none on this end yet either.

See you at round 3 in VIC!!

had an awsome weekend well done to both Sam's for putting on a great comp and any one else that helped organise it

the moon buggy looks like shiat but damn it is just awsome to watch
i can see a few more of them being built very shortly
well done pos for gettin it together and winning the event
u have really changed ur driving style since i last seen you

the tracks were awsome i especially liked the sunday courses when they were wet
