and both fit into surfs request.

Now just to add to this, If I was flying out from even WA to the eastern side I want to watch heaps of rigs competing not just 15 to 20 or so. I`d like to see more like 60 so to get my $$$$$ worth out of it.

No because he wanted a dedicated Rock comp and so far XRCC is the only event in australia other than Q-Rock which wont be on again till next Easter that even comes close to the discription.

Thats right RUFF we winched twice on one stage once to get us back on our wheels and if were better off just sitting there and timing out and we would of been 20 points better off.Surely the crowds were rather see us get back on our wheels and keep going.I personally would rather try and finish each stage no matter what than lay on my side till the clock runs out.

Im sorry Sam i didnt mean to brand you guys as wingers and actually it wasnt realy solely directed to the guys down south but all we have heard from a lot of sources from the Sydney area is that you guys were not in any way impressed about the last event.

Other than the rules we had no real problems with the event or the coarses and no this has nothing to do with the fact we won.

spectators point of view XRCC was awesome action i went to round 0 didn't make round 1 - i remember saying to tony a few things concerned be with spectators one big thing was stage 2 on the final corner and gate - quite off camber i can remember standing on the high side watching cheezy get a bit tipsy and have abotu 50 spectators standing directly below him

q-rock was heaps better suited for spectators in my opinon in the way it was run and set out -compared to round 0 XRCC can't comment on round 1 though - q rock ran double bunting - one for the track and one for spectators - quite surprising when we first arrived at the first course all the spectators we already behind the spectator bunting

both XRCC and Q-Rock could be improved - remembering the rock crawling competition is still relativly new and will take some time to get up and running well in australia

Left a bit out and believe me winching is my last resort I'll try every conceivable line there is before we roll out the winch.

Yes a QLD comp could never compare to a comp down south in regards to Number of competitors and spectators simply due to the number of people that live in those states! (excapt at ORIGIN time, GO QLD  )

Also Woodpecker is an established event and has been run over a number of years where as XRCC is only NEW and by being run as a SERIES (not a one off) will never have the large numbers, also the fact that XRCC requires a more Specialised vehicle than PECKERHEAD  opps WOODPECKERHEAD  opps it slipped again   WOODPECKER requires!

But that was not an issue with the original Question!! :P

Woodpecker was a great event, the main thing I liked about it was how it was team based. It brough a whole new strategy to 4wding I'd never seen before. Best example was up the boat ramp, one team tried to drive as far as they could, whipped out the winch, and had a snatch strap to their team mate behind them...one pull...2 cars up....great team work. Also made it interesting when the first team member was taken out and the other car had to get past

Tuff Truck was okay, but I felt from a spectators point of view, it was a bit suckage, very hard to get a good spot to see everything. The one thing that pisses me off with comps is when they run multiple events at the one time...I just don't get the chance to see everyone. The nissan trials was a good example of this, I was running around all day trying to keep up with the action...hopeless. I understand the need to do this with so many rigs competing and so little time..but woodpecker stands out for me in that regard...just one looooong track and plenty of time to drive it.

I'm looking forward to XRCC and the Aust Short Course comps, will be good to see how they stack up against the NSW comps I've been too.

Ideally for me, I'd like to see rock rock and more rock. I get sick of dust in my face, my food and my camera lense. I like it slow and technical.

Just my 1.8cents (gst adjusted)

WHAT HAVE YOU STARTED SUPRASURF!!!!!!!!!

just adding to what bubs was saying about spectator placement. i really liked how close you could get to the rigs at XRCC round1, it was like you were on a normal trail run, not stuck behind a fence or glass wall. of course this could lead to troubles if someone decides to be and idiot, but everyone seemed to be well behaved from what i saw, and backed away when people were winching etc.

BTW, this pic was taken with no zoom
