Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to if there is a rear compatible auto locker for a 3.1L 1994 Isuzu MU? As far as I know only ARB Air locker RD44 will fit. I don't know much about the rear diff but i believe it’s a 12 bolt Isuzu diff, 26 splines. I have tried asking on the MU forum but most people already have LSDs (I don't) so it’s not an issue.
Just thought to try here as the MU and rodeo/Jackaroo rears are quite similar.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Pissy

Gday Pissy.
Pretty sure that the ARB is the only locker available for the 12 bolt at this stage although the guys over at Planet Isuzu are currently trying to drum up some support to get rear Lockrights manufactured. You can see the progress here: http://forum.planetisuzoo.com/viewtopic.php?t=2617 Might be worth getting in on the deal if you are prepared to wait...
If you dont mind me asking, what's your reason for wanting an autolocker anyway? Is it purely due to cost? I have always doubted the longevity of rear autolockers as they would be working constantly whether on or off road...
Cheers,
Noel

Thanks guys for the help,
I done some researching and asked a few mechanics and the general idea was that since I have an open diff I need to fix the rear traction issues first. So I look at LSDs but I am told that they are great for general on road but not that good when going slowly off road as they require a large amount of torque to get the LSD working. Hence while going slow over rocks I would not be getting proper traction. Anyway thats what the 4WD mechanic told me, although an LSD is far better than nothing but for real traction auto or air locker?
Also costs, if I had my way it would be air lockers all round but $$$$ or even air locker rear and auto front but still theres alot of $$$$.
I am just trying to get the rear of my MU sorted.
Cheers

Yeah was going to do that (front Lokka), actually should have done it when a few other MU boys got theirs during the LOKKA sale off 4WD systems, $450 each bargain and now they are back to 650 bummer!
Might try and source one (Lock-Right) from the states for about 400ish, would be slightly better than LOKKA.
I did ask the planetIsuzoo guys where they are up too in the rear locker but as yet have not had a response.
Cheers
