I doubt you will be able to find a welded coily front diff. no they are not the same as a narrow track diff and I doubt if they are interchangeable. you may be able to fit a jimny front diff with some small modifications.

Any suzuki wrecker will have them. As they're not that common a car there are usually a few around. I have one already welded but it's up here in Brisbane.

now can anyone post up a nice and easy, step by step instruction on exactly how to weld the diff, which bits to weld etc, and make it real clear, cos i have a friend who can weld but knows nothing about cars ;)

would only weld a rear, after riding in a zook with both welded, in competition style events, u loose the ability to turn and therefore keep hitting buntings and having to back and fill etc.

arb air front, rear welded. ;)

thats another thread in itself everyone has different ideas on what way is best , do a search it's ask (welding diffs ) about every 2 weeks , look in both the suzuki section and the general tech i think .

why do you wanna carry a spare diff around with you ? weld it properly and it won't break .

and what screwy said is true , i know i had dramas with turning in the nissan trials but rather be running with two locked diffs and hard steering in a comp than no locker in the front at all , weld them both and save up for power steering or the like .

cheers Jai
if its worth doing do it intensly , better still do it with MADPASSION

i would go the air locker in the rear, and lock the front.
fitting a steering dampener should help with cornering, i plan to do this when i got the cash for my 98 sierra :D

How will a steering dampener help :? It may help reduce the kick back when you let the wheel go under bound up conditions, but not by much at all, and you shouldnt be letting go of the wheel at all. As for the stiff steering with a front locker engaged, the dampener will do nothing for this at all.

Holy gravedig batman ...
A steering damper will do nothing for your steering ... apart from protect you from a little kickback.
