the centres will bolt in between the 82 and 85 models....
to check the ratio just put it in, turn the wheel once and see how many times the spider gear on the centre turns.
also i do believe that front and rear centres are interchangeable.

Yeah this is on the late 80's and 90's crownwheels,its the number of teeth on the crownwheel and 10 on the pinion. all the diffs i've put in have had 8x39 etc, not 41 or 43

Close but it is actually Stamped as 4.1,4.3,4.5,4.8 These are all later model Hilux Diffs.bubs wrote:

The early ones will have the Crown and Pinion Teeth Counts stamped on them as Bogan Suggested.
Some dont have anything stamped on them at all so you just count the Crown Wheel teeth and Devide it by the Pinion Teeth.
As that is an early Hilux housing as long as its never been changed it will have 4.88 gears fitted.
