diff limiting strap - whats it do?
just a quick dumb question, what does this limiting strap do? my understanding is that the springs / shocks would limit how much the diff will flex away from the truck. this is probably a dumb question, but its nearlly 4 in the morning and i aint thinking straight at the moment.
and also, is it nessisary if you mount your shocks in an / \ type arrangement?
cheers y'all

indubitably
stops the rear end unloading so much when goin down steep hills
may also stop a rig from bouncing?
shocks mounted in / \ setup will more then likley have lots mor body roll the a l l setup the wider and more vertical (perpindicular SP? to axle movement) u can get ur shocks the better

My undestanding
When in partucular relating to coil suspension
When you have a large lift you find that your springs have way to much flex / travel for your shocks. therefore a limiting starp should be used to stop you ripping the rod out of the top of the shock.
Anyone with a large lift should run these.
Example.
A friend last year with a 6 inch lifted 80 went screaming over a sand june,
as he went over it the arse of the car flung up so hard and quick and to the extent of the shock the shock was not strong enough to stop this and the rod pulled out of the top.
Strap would prevent this
basically without it you are using your shock as your travel stop.
I am happy for anyone to corrct this if it is utter crap.

Also can be used to keep front end on ground when climbing steep sections, as it keeps the springs loaded and the front end down instead of allowing it to rise up to full droop.

Depend on the tyre size and the weight of them. Think I'd rather kill a shock than rip the back out of my truck!!!!!! :Example.

as he went over it the arse of the car flung up so hard and quick and to the extent of the shock the shock was not strong enough to stop this and the rod pulled out of the top.

Where the f#@k did that come from
Also prevents the diff from to much droop .. if say your a bit over enthusisatic over a bit of whoop .. you dont want you diff dropping out so far that you bind up uni's etc and possibly invert shackles on the landing ..
" If governments are involved in the covering up the knowledge of aliens, Then they are doing a much better job of it than they do of everything else "
the superior engineering boys, as im refering to ur picture limits the unloading of springe when fitted with drop shackles on the rear
