well, someone had to say it sometime, so it may as well be me :finger:

its around this time of year that it gets brought up again, and its been such a popular event over the last couple of years, that i thought i'd try to get the ball rolling ;)

for the newbies who dont know what OWW 3 means, its the annual 'OUTERLIMITS WILD WEEKEND' which usually happens around october to celebrate the boards birthday. this years will be the 3rd such event. previous years have been held at landcruiser mountain park, and rover park last year.

its simply a weekend where everyone brings their rig along, from stocko's to buggy's, and drives some shit, has some drag races  , maybe a tug-o-war or two, and some even get up to some (authorised) circle work :D

this is troy's video from the first one at lcmp -> http://www.4wdlinks.com.au/videos/final ... lights.wmv

Lots of top suggestions for venues. :) But no matter where it is there will be more who can't make it than those who can

The idea of rotating it around the states is good, but WA and those outside of major centres will always have excessive travel.

I don't know the exact size of membership on this board or the willingness to attend, but it seems that everytime I log there are more and more members here. With what must now be the largest membership of any 4WD entity in Australia, is it too much of a stretch to consider State or regional events regularly, leading up to a national event. eg January = Sydney/Newy, February = Townesville, March =Melbourne, April = SA, May = Brisbane, June = Snow Mtns, etc etc

Similar sort of events plus local specialities, local clubs can sponsor/host events, perhaps even gain support from local councils (big tourism help).

Those who have attended their "local" event will then have a greater incentive to travel for a national event.

Just my2c worth of an idea.

that all sounds like too much trouble when the admins of the site are already busy organising the W.E.Rock competition series. this weekend is just a casual get together, with nothing really organised. where everyone can come and meet with other members.

okay, but why does it have to be the admins organise it? I have missed out on the last OLWW's, but didnt last year have meals and stuff from Hans from Rover? SO it was more than just a casual gathering.......

Emu or Rover again..... not that I would be able to go anyway
