That is probably the best idea. Don't need new hinges though, just get some old ones, remove the pin, strip the paint off, get them galvanised and rebuild with a stainless pin.

my hinge bolts which seem to be gal are starting to rust. and the crappy wind screen caps (cast alu) corroded so the paint came off in two big flecs last time at car lovers. just went to "bolt in" and got stainless bolts for the bonnet hinges, door hinges and made some stainless bolt/pins for the front vents as they were rusting and staining the paint. the caps are with the powder coaters(along with my sliders and wing scoop). so the door hinges are made from cast steel??? all this steel and alloy together must be causing some good electrolysis.
cheers, Serg

ps the angle bracket fitted to the "a" pilar and snorkel has bubled and rusted so another stainless product now replaces it. soon i will own a Rover Delorion. coooollllllll

Check out the UK Land Rover mags. I saw a company selling stainless steel ones advertise a while back.

Will check the my pile and see if I can find the contact details if you like.
