CP6 did exist it was just a mega bitch to get to it. I think most people just got fed up because there such a big gap and it was taking to long.

It was a good night considering half the cars getting lost on the first couple of turns. And then it seems more got lost on the entry to Ormeau.

Have not gone through the few score sheets I got at the end but I am pretty sure the Track About GQ won the night. He was one of only three to drive the last CP and he pretty much drove everything else and even got bonus points from Skippy for flopping on CP3 and then droving out of his flop.

Thanks to all who turned up and gave it a go.

hi guys thanks for a great night got home to gympie about 7 this morning the rear tail shaft broke the uni and fell out on the high way so had to drive from brissie on the front diff and its welded. I didn't find cp6 but i drove cp7 thanks again.

awsome run dudes. i was a little annoyed with myself but a cp2 were i went for bonus points and hugged a tree a little too close approching that drop off but hey i didnt need that door anyway. looking at the bend and dent in it im still not real sure why the glass didnt shatter either. then there was cp4. i got my front wheels up the second rock face and was trying to pull the rest of the car up and snap. by by left front cv. never mind it will keep me busy for a week or to anyhow.
once again awsome run guys be keen to get out again and try it soon

Thanks for everyone's patience at CP1 (once everyone found it...) but I think it went well enough. It probably took a bit longer there than expected but I'm not the fittest around and jumping up and down the step for everyone took it's time.

Well what a night,

we were set up on check point 4. sat there for over 4 hours waiting for the competitors . the first few cars thru had a look and decided that they wernt going to get up so kept going...

the first to attempt it was the little black zook on all trerains he had a good go at it

most of the bigger cars gave it ago and got a fair way up there.. only to have to winch out.

Than the yellow nissan that busted a cv saw us winching him out..

Pulled stumps at about 3:00 and was home in bed by 3:15.

Had a great night hope everyone enjoyed themselves i know we did. big thanks to the organisers great night run...

Well done to all the cars that completed the checkpoint (especially the white Jeep-done so easy ) and also to the cars that just did the first half .
We missed out on going to the other checkpoints as the alternator belt snapped so it was a quick drive home,not knowing how far we would get without the battery charging, but we made it.
NEVER AGAIN IS THE TOW RIG GOING IN PLACE OF THE BUGGIE.

EXCELLENT Night run guys. Thanks heaps to the Logan Club and its members for their ongoing commitment to put these nights on. A special thanks to all the officials manning the check points, without you guys there would be no run. We drove all checkpoints with only one altercation. That being my flop on one of the checkpoints, CP2 I think? Reversed straight back out of it, which I think was the highlight of the night for Will (navi). Only broke driverside mirror, anything else was on existing damage anyway. Bumcrack backwards was very interesting enjoyed this one (alot easier on CVs). Dissappointed not to see more people at the finish. I think its insulting to the organises when people don't complete the run, and just throw their arms up in the air at the first opportunity and winge and bitch and then head home. Often these are people who have never put on a run and don't realize how hard the mapping process is. Lets remember that getting to the finish by use of the stick map is the primary function of the run, the checkpoints are there to give people the opportunity to test their vechile and driving abilities. If people don't bother finishing and supporting the organises then no one will volunteer to host the run. Left checkpoint 7 at about 4.00. We had a great night!

i was on checkpoint 6, and a big thanks to the 4 guys that actually made it to there, and a big to the three guys that drove it, kinda made the 6 hour wait worth it (the first competitor arrived well after 3AM).

Was a shame i didn't get to see more of the cars in action, as there were some very capable looking rigs in the carpark at the start, but oh well.

Anyway had a great time, hope to do it again.

firstly i'd like to thank the guys who manned the checkpoints for dan and i last night...phippsy,rod,mandy,skippy,grant,scott and crew,wes,jason and matty and chris and birdy....you guys had a long night and did a great job...

well done to all the competitors who turned up and flogged their machines all night....

got to see nearly every checkpoint in action over the night on my travels and got to see some hell drives from a lot of rigs

to the guys who got lost at the start it was all because of a right hand turn that a few guys missed and then everyone seemed to follow...you really need to rely on your own navigation skills and not just follow the herd at times...and the fact that there were guys that got to the end proved that the map was readable and followable....it just took a bit of care.....

i know i copped a bit of a ribbing from a few guys through the night as to how the map was setup/drawn but as there is no set rules on how to draw a map etc then there is always gunna be variations on how different people will do it.that is why there is a legend on the front of the map....

little hint for next time guys.,... take your time and be sure of where you have been..after all it is a navigation run..not a tag a long....and going off at organisers doesnt help either....

Shane felt pretty impressed with his Jeep (silver ) and unfortunately had to leave at check point three top make sure Clitty (our mate in the suzi) made it to the road safely after busting the front hub bolts and a rear axle.

First night run i ever attended and I can tell you i had great fun, thanks Bubs (buddy) for takin me onboard.
I can say that the ride of that hilux (Azas) was pretty impressive also for a leaf sprung vehicle

I was going to give this one a miss but scotty conned me into having a go as no one had at this time. He said if i got to the first ledge he give 20 pts so we did. We were then going to back down but he then offered another 10 pts if i could get my front wheels up the ledge' which we did. Then thought we would have one go at popping the back over with no luck. As per photos in previous post. For the record I didn't try the 100 pointer at checkpoint 5 either, just took the 50 pointer.Didn't want to be changing CV's. GU front diff goes in next week then will be able to drive a bit harder!

Buy the time We got to scotty (CP4) his car had over heated the big yellow nissan was under whinch load with a busted cv half way up the ledge and scottys baterry was flat, no one was goin up or down in any sort of hurry.

By the way I wonder if they ever found that damn radiator cap

Hey Guys. Was an interesting night, my first night run, josh's 2nd. We were going great guns making the right turn at the start when everyone infront of us and behind us went straight ahead. Did CP1, Attempted CP2 but got hung up so gave that a miss which put us at the front of the pack. We were the first car to get to CP3. Did this got the 50 points but managed to dent the rear quarter guard and smash an indicator..was a bit hairy! Got to CP4, first car there aswell, took one look and decided that was a no go, got to CP5, 2nd car there, did the little 10point bit with no trouble (I was SO PROUD of myself, got outta the car and pointed josh in the right direction! YAY!). Then it all went to the sh!t, we got totally lost, we made it into ormeau no trouble but after that......we ended up following some of that orange tape because we'd be told at one of the check points that if we can follow that then we're on the right track. That ended up taking us back out of ormeau....so we found an entrance we were familiar with and somehow ended up just near CP7 and we drove past CP7and a half ?????? But after driving around for over 2 hours just looking for CP6 and my head cold and my body temp getting hotter by the second, we decided to call it quits. Would've liked to have finished but we are mates with the yellow GQ that everyone's talking about (luv ya matty!) and when we found out that he'd busted a CV and was heading out, we should go and check that he was ok. So sorry we didn't finish guys, tried to call both numbers on the front of the map and tried the UHF ch 23 but couldn't raise anyone. Hopefully we'll do better next time....

Had a ball again ,did all check points up to 6 ,broke CV just getting there at 3:00.By the time i got it changed,it was 3:30 all my mates had had enough.But i will be going back to complete it,it wont win. Too the organisers, it was the best run i have done in a long time.THANKS
