Thats Tracey Jordan, probably the best driver (rockcrawler) in the world today. However if i remember correctly he did end up rolling and not finishing that stage.

The thing that people need to realise is that crawling slowly over rocks becomes quite boring very quickly. In an event most of the stages are slow going with a few obstacals requiring some decent throttle. So it is still technical and yet exciting to watch. At a Rockcrawling event the crowd really gets into it when a team is getting it on. It is also very hard to produce a exciting and eye catching video if you mainly include the crawling. Look at this demo, there was one part where they showed Dustin Webster (red bull buggy) "crawling" over a rock, it was as boring as bat sh!t to watch, it then goes back onto the full throttle stuff that people enjoy watching. All in all WEROCK is not all Full throttle event, here in OZ there is a bit of everything and i understand from what i have seen and heard that WEROCK USA is very similar. At the end of the day it is totally up to the drivers how they want to atack a certain obstacal, if it the full throttle approach then good on them, if its the slow and steady approach then that can work also.

In regards to the terrain again its avery big misconception that the events in the USA are totally rock, there are only a few events over there that accomodate that type of "Full" rock. Many events have what they call Dirt to rock transitions. It all comes back to how the courses are designed and set-up. A good course designer can make average terrain into awesome courses.

Very weel said there POS...

Events, depending on Promoter, course designer, terrain and contestants, will vary quite a bit. Some Promoters like the big thrills and spills, others like to maintain a balance of full throttle asualts and technical slow go'n crawling. We at W.E.ROCK USA perfer the balanced approch.

But as was stated above, the crowd mostly perfers to see the skinny pedal used. :D
