Extended chassis shakle mount and transfer case mount

Post by jasonmcc »

Hi Guys

Just got some Series 3 Gears fo my suzi. What do you guys say I should do with the mounts for the txfer case. What should I replace them with?

Also I am going to go RUF with a chassis extension. What did you do for you new shackle mounts. Did you make them or buy them. What did you make them out of? or where did you get them?

Cheers

JAson

these were not finished at the time, but I don't have any more pics. Just cut the old ones off carefully and re-used them

Just carefuly remove the existing ones and refit them, (if it looks stock, people think it is stock).

with my mates sierra, the old spring mounts are buggered due to rust, so even if we carefully cut them off, i dont think they would be as safe to use again.

we're planning on just making some up with some steel plate and some thick wall tubing. we're just going to replicate what the originals were measurement wise. that way, the mounts will be beefier and stronger, but not look too out of place.

i know a few guys who have their sierra MVR approved for SPOA, so i'd doubt the would pick on stronger mounts for the springs, if they even notice at all.

just dont make the chassis extension too noticable. and post up some progress pics. its a beast ni the making.

Beef up the transfer case arms, they bend with the extra load applied by the reduction gearing.
