TD5 power chips??

Post by def90 »

i haven't been able to find a past thread on which td5 power upgrades are supposed to be best? my old man just bought a td5 dualcab defender to deck out for a touring machine, and he is quizing me re power upgrades. i know a few mobs like TDI and bruce davis do them but i want real world experience on who has them and how good are they for the money...every one that tries to sell your their preferred unit is "the best", to them at least... any one got any suggestions and or comments?

i'd say stay away from the safari units alot of people wont use them anymore. i.e over fueling.

TUNIT units seem to be what everyones using i know landy workshop who has used quite a few different units and still goes back to the TUNIT chips all the time

I've got the Bruce Davis upgrade that puts out about 165-170kw and 520Nm. Its basically an intercooler and ECU upgrade. Makes a huge difference to the performance, drives really well, introduces a little more harshness into the motor and uses less fuel.
