Hi guys,
I need ideas on a rear bar design. I currently have just the standard rear bumper with the plastic corner bits taken off and I want something a bit more beefy.
I've lifted the current bar to suit the 2" body lift and I want something that will let me carry a 35" tyre on the back aswell.
I was thinking of just a simple tube bar but wondered if I should somehow incorporate some protection for the rear 1/4 panels aswell.
What can ya come up with ?

G'day Hekta,
I'm in the process (slow) of making up a custom rear bar out of 60mm
OD gal tube,2.5mm wall. I'm going to cut the bottom of the rear quarter
panels off level with the top of the chassis rails (that will get rid of the
damaged bits ) then run the tube underneath and right around the
back, brace it across to the chassis behind the wheels and maybe
incorporate a tube fuel tank protector ( it does'nt hold as much as it used
to ) might need to go double tube in the middle section just to cover
the ends of the chassis and put some al checker plate on top as a step.
Was planing on coming out the back about 60mm more than the original
so there is more to step on and as the spare sticks out heaps more than
the standard one.Hav'nt worked oyt what to do about the lights yet, have
already wired the fog lights up to the brakes so only really need to worry
about parkers
Thats about all I can think of atm , hope it's some help ?
